KADEM participated to Euro-Med Women’s Rights Civil Society Conference

KADEM External Relations ad Projects Director SezenGungor attended to Euro-Med Women’s Rights Civil Society Conference in Cairo organized by Euro-Med Feminist Initiative on 22-23 November 2017.

 

The Euromed Feminist Initiative, founded with the support of the European Union to promote sustainable dialogue between women’s rights organizations, decision-making bodies and policy makers in the fields of gender equality and women’s rights, held Euro-Med Women’s Rights Civil Society Conference in Cairo this year.

 

Euro-Med Women’s Rights Civil Society Conference aimed at strengthening the common discourse of women’s organizations, especially in the Euro-Mediterranean region, in order to strengthen women’s status in society.NGOs working in the field of women’s rights, gender specialists, academicians and media representatives shared their opinions at the conference which 120 representatives from 25 countries attended.

KADEM Board Member SezenGungor, shared the view of KADEM in working groups on the issues of gender equality in changing global world, violence against women, barriers to economic participation of women, gender inequalities in decision making mechanisms, harmonizing international women’s rights norms with national legislation on gender equality, women in peace and security processes.
