Founded on March 8, 2013, KADEM is a non-governmental organization that operates with the aim of building a safe society where women can live with dignity and a just future. It adopts the principle of “equality in existence, justice in responsibility” as its foundational value.

KADEM’s corporate identity is built on a triple value system of “Trust, Dignity, and Justice”, which serves as a compass guiding its work across all fields:

  • Trust refers to establishing a social structure in which women feel safe within society,
  • Dignity means defending every woman’s right to live in a manner befitting human dignity,
  • Justice involves developing balanced, rights-based solutions without polarizing women and society.

In line with these values, KADEM works to develop practical and lasting solutions on issues concerning women’s rights and the family, aiming to establish a justice-centered discourse. It seeks to strengthen women’s representation in all areas of social life.

KADEM’s main areas of focus include:

  • Contributing to academic literature with its own unique discourse
  • Advocacy for rights
  • Civil activism
  • Combating all forms of violence
  • Promoting equal opportunities for women

Actively engaged on the international stage, KADEM serves on the executive board of the W20 summit, which was established under the G20 during Türkiye’s presidency. Since 2015, KADEM has participated in the W20 summit each year, contributing to efforts in the field.

Through initiatives such as the Women’s Studies Congress and the International Women and Justice Summit, KADEM aims to enrich existing literature and support the development of solution-oriented policies. Additionally, with its peer-reviewed academic journal, KADEM Journal of Women’s Studies, the organization publishes research on gender and women’s issues, bringing together knowledge from various disciplines.
