Prof. Dr. E. Sare Aydın

Prof. Dr. E. Sare Aydın is a faculty member at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Istanbul Ticaret University. She has also served as the Project Coordinator of the ITICU EU Center and as the Founding Director of the Center for Women and Family Studies and Research. Her academic work focuses on topics such as Türkiye-EU relations, nationalism, identity, migration, and women’s policies.

Aydın began her professional career in 2006 at Dubai Islamic Bank. She later served as Project Executive Coordinator at the EU Directorate of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, EU Advisor for the 2010 Istanbul European Capital of Culture Project, and EU Consultant at the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce.

Active in the field of civil society, Aydın became the Founding President and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Women and Democracy Association (KADEM) in 2013, and the KADEM Foundation in 2015. She has participated in and led various initiatives, including the Istanbul EU Platform, the Türkiye Democracy Studies Platform, the W20 Delegation, and the Entrepreneurial Women: The Power Within Us YouTube channel and platform. In 2019, she founded the International Association for Migration and Refugees, where she currently serves as Chairperson of the Board.

During the 27th legislative term, she served in the Turkish Grand National Assembly as an AK Party Member of Parliament representing Istanbul and as a member of the Parliamentary Bureau. Today, Prof. Dr. Aydın continues her work as a mother, an academic, a businesswoman, and a civil society volunteer.
