ADEM Women on the Move Project ended with an international panel on Refugee Women and the premiere of the documentary named “Ayrılık (Seperation)”.

The Women on the Move project, jointly conducted by the Women and Democracy Association (KADEM), the International Association of Refugee Rights from Turkey (UMHD) and EUROCULTURA from Italy, shared the results of the one-year intensive work at the closing meeting on February 11, 2017, Saturday at 10:00.

The president of KADEM Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sare Aydın Yılmaz, Vice President of KADEM Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar; members of the board of directors and Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of the European Union, Dr. Mehmet Cangir opened the exhibition of the Syrian Artist Sumaya Kaderi first. Following the opening ceremony, welcome speeches were delivered.

The president of KADEM Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sare Aydın Yılmaz who made the opening speech of the program extended the good news that KADEM is going to launch a new project for refugees. “This project ends here today; however, our works for refugee women are not going to end. We have learned about the women on the immigration move thanks to this project. Now, it is time to settle the challenge of adaptation to this reality and life…As KADEM, we are going to pursue new projects that will ensure their psychological rehabilitations as well as economic and cultural adaptations.” said Aydın.

Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of the European Union, Dr. Mehmet Cangir also delivered a speech at the opening of the program. Cangir, in his speech, underlined that they are women who suffer most from immigrations and this projects holds a significant role as it targets the women.

The documentary named “Ayrılık (Seperation) was watched after the several women who took part in the documentary delivered their stories on the stage.

Following the premiere of the documentary, International Refugee Women Panel took place with the moderation of Süleyman Kurt, General Secretary of the International Association of Refugee Rights and with the presence of Levi Bettin from Eurocultura, Kevser Kafas, a Syrian Refugee and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Adıgüzel.
