She was born in 1972 in Kadirli. She completed her primary education in Kadirli, and her secondary and high school education in Adana Anatolian High School. She graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1995.  She completed her law internship at Istanbul Bar Association in December 1996. Since then, she works as a self-employed lawyer.

She took part in many civil society activities in the fields of human rights, family law and rights of children and women. Her legal, literal and political articles and studies have been and continue to be published in press and media organs.

She is a Founding Member of AK PARTY Istanbul Provincial Board and was appointed as an Alderwoman of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality for the 5th and 6th terms from 2004 to 2014. She served as the Chairwoman of the Law Commission of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, and as the Spokeswoman of the AK PARTY Group of the Municipality.

Yanık has been involved in civil society activities since her school years, and in addition to Women and Democracy Association, she is currently holding office as a member, board member and advisory council member of many associations and foundations.
