“2023 Entrepreneur&Investor Meeting” held in
Women in Innovation Project
Ideas, projects, presentations and future plans… Women in Innovation 2nd Demo-Day meeting held with great enthusiasm.
The 2nd Entrepreneur & Investor Meeting (Demo-Day) of the Women in Innovation Project, which was organised for the seventh time this year, was held on Saturday, 21 January 2023 at Sheraton Grand Istanbul Ataşehir. The programme was attended by Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of KADEM Foundation, project stakeholders, investor guests and 10 women entrepreneurs from different sectors seeking seed investment in the incubation category.
The Entrepreneur&Investor Meeting (Demo-Day) was held with great enthusiasm where women entrepreneurs who envision, work and implement their projects engage with and present their projects to investors within the scope of the Women in Innovation 2022 project.
In her speech at the 2nd Women in Innovation Demo-Day event, Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of KADEM Foundation, said: “As you know, women entrepreneurship has a significant potential in the entrepreneurship ecosystem. Challenges such as difficult start-up conditions, structural problems in the way of women entrepreneurship, environmental and economic factors, access to finance and sustainability… Women’s inclusion in the entrepreneurship ecosystem by overcoming all these difficulties harbours opportunities not only for themselves but also for you, our esteemed investors. Your investments will not only strengthen the role of women in the entrepreneurship scene but also contribute to Turkey’s economic growth.” Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar concluded her speech with the following words: “Today, I wholeheartedly wish that the women entrepreneurs, who will take their first steps under your guidance, will empower women’s employment in our country with the businesses they establish and become a source of inspiration and role models for future female entrepreneurs.”
The Women in Innovation Project ongoing since 2015
After the opening speeches The Demo-Day event continued with presentations where 10 women entrepreneurs shared their interesting and innovative projects. The program, enriched by the questions posed by investors to the entrepreneurs after the presentations, concluded with one-on-one B2B meetings between investors and selected entrepreneurs.
Since 2015, KADEM has been implementing the Women in Innovation Project with the aim of enhancing the skills of women entrepreneurs who say “I have an idea” and transforming them into initiatives with high potential for creating qualified employment.
In the 7th edition of the project held this year:
- In the Incubation Category,
- Müge Baltacı won the first prize with the “Mole” project,
- Merve Aydıner received the second prize with the “Invamar” project,
- Nazife Nur Köksal was awarded the third prize with the “SynthData” project.
In the Pre-Incubation Category:
- Zuhal Oktay Coşkun won the first prize with the “Super Cable” project,
- Güneş Sayıt received the second prize with the “Swatchloop” project,
- Ravzanur Eker was awarded the third prize with the “Coridor” project.
So far, 2050 women entrepreneurs have applied to the project. Among these entrepreneurs, 210 qualified to participate in training camps. 36 entrepreneurs made it to the finals, and 26 of them received awards by realizing their projects.
