Betül Altınsoy Yanılmaz was born in Ankara in 1984. Altınsoy Yanılmaz completed her high school education at Ankara TevfikIleri Anatolian Imam Hatip High School. Yanılmaz graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Law and completed her master’s degree at Marmara University, Department of Public Law. Since the school years, she has been actively involved in various civil society organizations and worked in the field of human rights. She worked as an expert in material development studies at The Family Education Program (AEP) of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. She took part in the establishment of the International Refugee Rights Association and served on the supervisory board. She published academic and popular articles in various periodical journals. She continues her career as a lawyer in Yanılmaz Law Office as a founder, and continues her civil society activities as a member of the Board of Directors at Women and Democracy Association (KADEM).
