Saliha Okur Gumrukcuoglu, born in Istanbul in 1975, graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Theology. Gumrukcuoglu, who completed her master’s degree in “Islamic Law” department of the same university, took the title of Doctor from Marmara University Faculty of Law in 2011 and served as a chairman and lecturer in Islamic Law Department of Medipol University-Faculty of Law in Istanbul for 3 years. Gumrukcuoglu, who studied in the fields of Islamic Law, Ottoman Law and Law History, is fluent in English and Arabic. SalihaOkurGumrukcuoglu, who continues her career as a lecturer in the Department of Law History at the Faculty of Law at Istanbul Medeniyet University, continues to offer seminars on her areas of expertise as well as on her academic studies. Gumrukcuoglu, who is married and has two children, continues her civil society activities as a board member at the Women and Democracy Association.
