Project with the reference number of 2020-1-TR01-KA204-093670 titled “Second Chance for Colibri Birds: Empowering and Increasing Capabilities of Women” by the coordinator Gaziantep University within the scope of Erasmus Plus Adult Education Strategic Partnerships Projects under Erasmus Plus 2020 Call. The main starting point of the project is to support and empower of women on the basis of co-operatives and civil society and the development of inter-institutional social dialogue.
THE PROJECT STARTED TO BE IMPLEMENTED IN 5 PARTNER COUNTRIES DURING 30 MONTHS
The opening virtual meeting of the project was held by the participation of the project partners KADEM, Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality GASMEK and SEGED from Turkey; The National Center for Scientific Research (DEMOKRITOS) from Greece, Vai Avante Association from Portugal, Mobilizing Expertise from Sweden, and CIVIC UK.
FOCUSING ON THE INCREASE OF THE WOMEN EMPLOYMENT
The project emphasizes the importance of women’s inclusion in the workforce, one of the most important actors in shaping the future. Serious researches are needed in order to improve the current situation in terms of women’s participation in economic life, overcoming social ruptures and women’s participation in the workforce. In this context, the project is at a level to meet this need and touches to life. Within the scope of the project policies related to raising awareness will be developed for women taking part in the civil society process and non-governmental organizations working for women.
THE WOMEN ARE NOW “COLIBRİ BIRDS” FOR US IN THIS PROJECT
In the project, women are associated with “Colibri Birds”, which have the smallest volume but are strong enough to flap their wings 80 times per second. It is aimed to increase the participation of women in civil society at the point of holding on to life and progress and to ensure that they are supported at the academic level. From this point of view, legal legislation, digital marketing, occupational health and safety and the main expertise fields of the project partners will be integrated to the training module and e-learning platform for the women and will be disseminated to co-operatives, NGOs, municipalities and public and private sector related to the target group of the project.
