Jakarta, Indonesia – Dr. Nursem Keskin Aksay, a Board Member of KADEM (Women and Democracy Association), attended the International Muslim Women’s Conference held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on December 13. During the conference, Aksay participated in several important programs, covering topics such as women’s leadership, sustainable agriculture, education, cultural relations, and international collaborations, representing Türkiye with success.
Emphasis on Equality in Education
In her speech at the conference, Dr. Keskin Aksay highlighted the importance of equal opportunities in education, stressing that women can take on more active roles in society through education. She also emphasized that strengthening women’s leadership is essential for social development.
International Collaborations Developed
Aksay met with the Indonesian Women’s Agricultural Organization to discuss increasing women’s leadership roles in the agricultural sector and supporting sustainable agricultural projects. Additionally, she held academic cooperation talks with Universitas Insan Cita Indonesia and Universitas Respati Indonesia.
New Steps in Cultural Relations
Dr. Keskin Aksay, who spoke at an event at the Yunus Emre Institute in Jakarta on Türkiye-Indonesia cultural relations, had the opportunity to observe the intercultural communication studies of Institute Director Cemal Şahin and his wife Pınar Esma Şahin. During the event, she also exchanged ideas with Indonesian students about academic opportunities in Türkiye.
Embassy and Women’s NGO Visits
As part of the program, Dr. Aksay visited the Turkish Embassy in Jakarta and various women’s non-governmental organizations to assess projects aimed at strengthening relations between Türkiye and Indonesia.
