KADEM Says “Eids are Better Together” in Earthquake Region with “Eid Caravan”

Eid is about coming together, sharing joy, and easing sorrows.

During this Eid, the KADEM Eid Caravan met with residents of container cities in Kahramanmaraş and Hatay. With the collaboration of Çay Saati (Tea Time), warm smiles accompanied by coffee were shared, spreading the message that Eids are more beautiful when celebrated together.

Following the earthquake on February 6 that affected 11 provinces, KADEM has been present in the region since the first day, providing all possible support. During the Eid al-Fitr, KADEM continued to support the earthquake-affected areas. On the first day of the Eid, the KADEM Eid Caravan visited Kahramanmaraş Baykar Container City, and on the second day, it visited Hatay Üsküdar Container City, bringing treats and sharing the Eid spirit with the earthquake survivors. The Eid Caravan brought smiles to everyone, young and old alike, fostering unity, solidarity, and a sense of togetherness during the Eid.

Supported by Çay Saati, the KADEM Eid Caravan provided service in the earthquake-affected area for two days, joining in the Eid joy of the earthquake survivors with tea, coffee, and chocolate treats. The Eid caravan, which received enthusiastic participation from residents of all ages in the container cities, allowed children to enjoy fun times with gifts and treats, while adults experienced the happiness of solidarity and togetherness over tea, coffee, and chocolate.

In addition to delivering in-kind aid to the region, KADEM has been addressing the psychosocial needs of women and children in Kahramanmaraş and Hatay through Women Support Centers established since the third week after the earthquake.

The Women and Democracy Foundation (KADEM) has been working since its establishment on March 8, 2013, towards creating a safe society where women can live with dignity and a fair future.
