The KADEM Women in Innovation team attended Web Summit 2023 held in Lisbon, Portugal, from November 13 to 16, promoting the project on an international scale. At the event with over 70,000 participants from more than 160 countries, the Women in Innovation team from KADEM was present alongside nearly 40 startups, 7 medium and large-scale companies from Türkiye, and a total of around 250 individuals.

At Web Summit, there was an opportunity to meet entrepreneurs, investors, acceleration programs, and various professionals from all around the world. The Women in Innovation team had the opportunity to meet with female entrepreneurs from other countries and mentors working in the field of entrepreneurship, sharing their experiences. At the fair where KADEM’s other initiatives were also presented, the Women in Innovation program received significant attention.

At Web Summit 2023, the Presidential Investment Office and the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) ere also present as partners. Within the DEIK stand, companies such as Havelsan, Sahibinden, and GO Art Metaverse were featured. In addition, 23 entrepreneurs supported by the Investment Office and Istanbul Development Agency presented their ventures at the booths in the area.

At the Web Summit, the Women in Innovation team received not only mentorship offers supporting the internationalization of their ventures but also a high demand for the program to be conducted in English. Moreover, invitations to international summits and programs from countries such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Poland, and Ukraine, allowed for the inclusion in the global network in this field.

The Women in Innovation team participated in a reception hosted by our Temporary Chargé d’Affaires Zeynep Kaleli Barata Silverio at the Lisbon Embassy during Web Summit 2023, where they gathered with the Turkish delegation. The team also attended the Fark Labs Annual Web Summit Cocktail.
