Representatives From Women’s NGOs From 40 Countries Gathered For an Iftar Dinner at The Turkish House
On March 13th, KADEM, in collaboration with the Ministry of Family and Social Services, organized a networking event in New York. Minister of Family Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş also attended the event, which included more than 70 foreign women NGO representatives, activists, and civil society leaders from over 40 countries.
During the program titled “Meeting of Turkish and Foreign Women Leaders and NGO Presidents” held at Türkevi, Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş’s words regarding Palestine drew attention: “We call on everyone to raise our voices against this injustice and stand together for a brighter, more peaceful future for the Palestinian people.”
In her speech at the event, KADEM Chair of the Board of Directors, Gümrükçüoğlu, drew attention to the acceptance of prayers made by fasting individuals before iftar, saying, “I invite you all to join us in praying for world peace and harmony.”
The event brought together KADEM’s W20 activities and the international communication network initiated during Türkiye’s term presidency. Following the call to prayer, the event continued with an iftar dinner.
At the end of the event, participants expressed their admiration for Turkish hospitality and KADEM’s inclusive efforts.
