Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar
KADEM Deputy Chairwoman
Sumeyye Erdogan Bayraktar was born in Istanbul in 1985. After completing Kadıköy foreign language intensive Imam Hatip High School, she completed her undergraduate studies at the School of Public and Environmental Affairs in Indiana University. After studying Arabic at Jordan University, Bayraktar completed her master’s degree on NGOs and Development at London School of Economics, Department of Social Policy. She worked as an expert in the Statistical, Economic and Social Training and Research Center (SESRIC) affiliated to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Ankara. Bayraktar voluntarily worked as political counsellor of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkey, who was the Prime Minister at that period. She was among the founders of Women and Democracy Association and Foundation (KADEM), established in 2013. Currently, she works as the Vice-President of KADEM. Bayraktar is married and is mother of one child.
