W20 Gala Dinner has been organized by KADEM under the auspices of Mrs. Emine Erdoğan. Minister of Family and Social Policies Ayşen Gürcan, General President of KADEM E. Sare Aydın Yılmaz, Vice President of KADEM Sümeyye Erdoğan, committee members of W20, working group leaders, business world, many academicians and civil society organizations have participated in Gala Dinner.
The program has started with opening speech of E.Sare Aydın Yılmaz, General President of KADEM. Yilmaz mentioned that women have become a driving force for economic growth and they cannot be ignored as half of the population. She emphasized that in order to create more developed societies; women should have economic and social rights. She also drew attention that women and children face more urgent and global problems. In this context, she revealed the situation of women who subject to serious threat to their lives and well-being in war environment as the problems which should be solved immediately.
Minister of Family and Social Policies Ayşen Gürcan stated that every enterprise will fail if we do not include women in all spheres of social life. Gürcan emphasized that our purpose should be activating women’s potential that we already have and increasing welfare level of our country. Gürcan stated “women who played pioneering role in development of civilizations and contributed positively to progress of mankind have important roles in reaching the objectives of equality, peace and development all over the world”.
Mrs. Emine Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey revealed its vision transparently on women issues in G20 Presidency and in this context, it achieved concrete practices. She mentioned that by the campaigns which our state has organized in collaboration with civil society and private institutions, the concept “gender justice” has included to country’s agenda. She pointed out that “according to The Global Gender Gap Report prepared by ILO in 2014, it is seen that the rate of women CEOs in our country is in the front of many developed countries’. I want to applaud our strong women by counting the distinguished women here from the fields of politics, media, business and art. They have exhibited their differences in male-dominated society”.
